Nerves of Steel

The constant leakage of seawater requires nerves of steel. Always something new to learn in life.

Hi Ulrich,

Keep the nerves strong, you get closer to land every mile. Leaking is a hard one, at least that is how we experienced it. As long as ut is not increasing (too much), there is peace of mind to be found.

We read you want to fix it when you’re home. Or if you need it earlier, there is an excellent rigger and rudder repair service Antiqua; Antiqua rigging. It’s the place to be. They do lots of Swans, Oysters, and super yachts. Just excellence. We had a new upper rudder bearing made there and aluminium piece made, perfect. They deal with top notch brands.

While writing this and looking it up, we see shockingly that the owner Stan Pearson died last month….just 66…… His shop will continue, he had quite a few people working there. His shop had a great reputation. It is next Catamaran Marina and a Warf for haul out and repair. I am confident they have solved your problem before and maybe multiple times.

We hope you keep yourself and Easy under control and wish you some peace next to calm seas and fair winds.

Greetings from the lazy sailors (until May 2024, then going for Niue, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand)

Martin and Henny
